Sooo, I haven't posted in a while! Sorry readers. All 2 Or 3 of you! It was a busy last month of school. Two essays and 2 final Design projects. As well as 2 very hard and stressful Trig exams ha! Well one was stressful :( . My only non-stressful class was Drawing I! I guess the lack of coffee could have heightened the stress or not lol! But lets get to the point of this blog!
I AM OFFICIALLY DONE WITH MY FIRST YEAR of REAL COLLEGE!!!!
I don't really count Cosmo School because I didn't have to take English, math nor history! Which I still haven't taken! But I'm done!!!! First semester was easier than expected. Actually everything was better than expected.
I have to admit that I put college off for as long as I did because I was terrified at failing and especially terrified at taking English comp. I was under the impression that essay writing in college was way too hard! But I actually did great in comp I and II! Ms Leonard told me she always looked forward to reading my essays! I passed with an A! Comp II was kinda the same I did better than I thought on my essays! Ms Um, Voller said they all had great content or were good analysis of the readings! I'll be passing with a B, maybe? She um, annoyed me though with um her uming...she even wrote in on one of my essays...not good for her case I gave her a review that day lol!
The Art class also surpassed my expectations!
I was relived the first day of class when Mr. Bostic said it was (- ugh running out of messaging pages! Ill finish when i get home!)(Back!) Ok to make mistakes! Other wise he would be out of a job. But i did good in that class. First 2 drawings were okay, they were still life drawings. Then we had to draw bones. I didn’t want to draw bones but i did better than i thought, they were even but on display in the main office! After that we did perspective drawings where we were not supposed to shade which kinda mad me mad but whatever. The last thing we did was draw people's faces. I was like oh great! I had tried to draw people but the lips never came out right ): ! However Mr. Bostic made it essay to draw faces. we started by drawing a generic face that looked very manly and then had to draw one another...my drawing looked like the guy...the guys drawing not so much like me. But then i found out that he felt like he was no good at drawing. I think his last self portrait drawing worked out after Mr. Bostic explained to him how to do it. My self-portrait was freaky. Mr. Bostic kept saying it was scary because it looked so much like me and it even looked like a photograph. I showed a picture of it to Perla last night and it seemed she couldn’t believe it was me. After I told her it was me and that I drew it she wanted to draw too and wanted me to draw her and Jesus and her dad and her mom and well you get the picture lol!
So when I told my family I was going to major in art, I thought that dad was gonna say that it was a waste of time and money. Going to school to draw and paint and color seemed to me like it was not going to be challenging and so it was going to be considered a waste of money. But I was WAY wrong. Design class was supper challenging. We had to be in class for about 3 hrs twice a week. We had to learn vocabulary words and know how to use them because he would ask us to describe each others work using the vocabulary, then we had a quiz on those words. But we had to know those words to get good designs. My first one was good the second a little better the 3^rd the best and the last okay! We had to present 2 designs of each project before the final one was turned in for a grade. We had to do a 4x6 index card “baby,” an 11x 14 that was critiqued and then we had to turn in a 15 x 20! The 11x 14 was always the most stressful to do because it was the one we got most of the feedback from and if we had a good one the 15 x 20 would be a piece of cake! Although the were a piece of cake they were very time consuming. For the first 2 projects I worked like 4 days on each of them not including the time I spent on the 11 x 14 which was about a day or 2. On the 3^rd one I think I spent about 2 weeks on it and about 2 weeks on the 11x14 draft. The last one I did over a weekend but it was not my fave. I’m going to have to use to of those for a portfolio and me and Mr. Davis agreed on which 2 to use! This projects were only made stressful by the fact that I had to work on these and my English essays, sometimes they were due on the same day. Ms Voller and Mr. Davis were really nice about extending the deadlines unfortunately they set the deadline for the same day! But I did good in that class since I am passing with an A!
The other 5 classes were not as stressful and were as expected!
College algebra and trig were the most fun. Mr. Banik always made corny jokes! The test and homework of those classes were like super easy! In College algebra all test and quizzes were done in the math lab, I made 100 on all test except the final :( so I passed with an A! For trig test were taken in the class room using paper!! The first 3 were stress less, the last one I forgot my calculator at home and did not realized that I had until 30 min before the test. I was freaking out so much! I called dad to bring me the calculator but he didn’t make it even though he was driving 90mph where the limit was 70! The girl that sat next to me had an extra one so she let me borrow it… although I am grateful with her she could have told me that the stupid thing didn’t work right! I had to guess at like 3 of them because the answer the thing gave me was way off (working with triangles means your answer can‘t be more than 180 but I got like 500+ on at least 2 of them!) I ended up making an 85 on that test, but I get 5 extra point on a test cause I only missed 1 day, and I get 5 extra point on my overall grades because I answered a survey and I think he also gave points for answering in class quizzes! The exam was super easy so if I did make an A on it then I will be passing that class with an A despite the 85 I got on that one test!
Psychology class was okay! I stressed over the first exam but not so much on the last 4 and didn’t have to take the final because I knew I would pass with a B and it would not change if I had taken the final!
Chemistry was easier than I thought it was going to be but only because I figured out what Mr. what’s-his-name did for the test! We had online homework and he would use a lot of the those questions on the test! I passed with an A!!
Finally Viva Latino America class was just a waste of my time! I thought I was going to learn more than what tourist would want to see! I wanted to learn about the culture and traditions! I think I learned more from the final presentations we had to do than I did in the class!
Although I went through all these stressful situations and frustrating events I loved my first year of college! And even though I was ready to quit at the beginning of this semester, I am totally ready to start next semester! I’m only taking art classes , so hopefully it will go as smoothly as these past 2 semesters! Just glad I don’t have to take anymore English classes!!! I hope this summer is fun! i have over 3 months off!
WOW THIS IS LONG!

So i have about an houer til class and its nice out so im gonna sit out here and rest my shoulders cause they hurt my book bage is heavy today! I also need to rest my shooes cause 4 of us from design class to a lunch trip so ive been walking for a while! Oha and my sockie thing that i wear with flats its coming no came off on the way to allen so my my foot hurts more! But im really outside cause it feels good!
